The IPL Photorejuvenation Difference
Comfort. We have a pulsed light system that is exceptionally effective at treating brown pigment from sun damage at a much more comfortable energy level. There is no need to apply anesthetic gel or cream beforehand, and you can realize superior results in just one or two treatments.
What areas can be treated with IPL?
Virtually any part of your body with sun damage and age spots or freckles can be treated safely. The face, chest, shoulders, and arms are the most popular areas for IPL treatment because they have typically had the most sun exposure. Both discrete brown spots and skin densely covered with freckles respond well to treatment.
What does the IPL Photofacial do?
The visible light delivered is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots on your skin. The heating of the pigmented cells causes the therapeutic effect.
Is it true that I’ll need to arrive an hour early to apply a numbing cream?
No. Unlike other systems, our system requires no anesthetic creams or gels before treatment. Gel is messy, time consuming, and uncomfortable. IPL Photorejuvenation is the next generation in pulsed light treatments. No gel!
What do IPL treatments feel like?
When the IPL handpiece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation.
How long will the IPL treatment take?
The actual IPL treatment will only take a few minutes. And, since there is no need to apply gel or any topical anesthetic, your total appointment time can easily fit into your lunch hour.
How many IPL treatments will I need?
Typically, one or two treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very large or dark spots or for densely covered areas.
What happens after the IPL Photofacial and are there any side effects?
Immediately following the IPL treatment, the brown spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off. Consult with your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risks of IPL Photorejuvenation.
Will the brown spots reappear over time?
No. New spots may appear. These too can be removed. Remember to apply sunscreen liberally when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots.
Can all of my spots be treated with IPL?
Areas of brown pigment caused by sun exposure can be treated effectively. There are, however, other types of pigmented lesions, such as birthmarks and moles. Consult with your medical professional to identify the spots most likely to respond well to IPL Photorejuvenation.
Now is a perfect time to learn about what IPL treatments can do for your appearance!
